1. Open House Wednesday night
2. Reading check on Wednesday. Students should be reading nightly to meet their quota. 3. Progress reports go home on Thursday 3. Reading Journal due on Thursday. 3 entries (exposition, inciting incident, and conflict). Each entry should have a title, quote with page number, and explanation in the students own words explaining the quote and its connection to the title. Example is located on home page in reading journal folder and below in week 1.3. Students will begin their nightly reading with their personal selection.
Forms go home Monday to get signed. They will have weekly reading check ins on Wednesdays to make sure they are on track to finish on time. They will have weekly reading journal check ins on Thursdays. Instructions go home Monday or Tuesday. These assignments will lead to their first analytical reading piece. Students will begin vocabulary homework in week 4. Students will begin study island by the end of the term. |
